What Is Cous Cous?
The original name may be derived from the Arabic word Kaskasa, meaning "to pound small" or the Berber Seksu, meaning "well rolled", "well formed", or "rounded".
Why Should I Get Cous Cous ?
It has a light fluffy texture which is a little bland in flavour but which readily soaks up the flavours of other ingredients.
Couscous may also be used to make a breakfast tabbouleh salad. Though usually cooked in water, it can also be cooked in another liquid, like apple juice, and served with dried fruit and honey.
A 1 cup serving of couscous provides only 176 calories, which is 8% of a standard 2,000 calorie diet. This is far less than the calories that a cup of rice or quinoa holds, which provide 205 and 254 calories per cup, respectively.
Cous Cous is GMO Free, well accepted by Vegans and it is Dairy Free, plus No Added Sugar
