Ingredients
- 500 g organic white flour, plus some extra for dusting
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 15 g quick yeast
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 300 ml water
Directions
- In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients: flour, salt and yeast.
- Make a well in the centre, and add olive oil and water, and mix everything well with your hands. You can add a bit of water more if the dough seems a little stiff.
- Prepare work surface: spread some flour on a clean table top. Move your dough there and knead for around 10 mins.
- Once the dough is smooth, place it in a bowl (oil it before!) and cover with a clean cotton towel or film. Leave to rise for 1 hour (the dough should double in size). You can also place in the fridge overnight.
- Prepare the baking tray (use baking paper). Punch the dough so the air gets out, then pull it and gently mould it into a ball.
- Place the dough on the baking tray for another 1 hour until it doubles in size. Heat up the over to 220C with fan.
- Dust the dough generously with some extra flour and cut a few lines on the top of the loaf. Bake it for 30 minutes until golden brown. Or simply eat it topped with a sprinkle of extra virgin olive oil!
- Cool it down before you cut the first slice!
