Ingredients
- 400g of Spaghetti (or your choice pasta)
- ½ cup sliced sun dried tomatoes (the dry kind, not in oil kind)
- ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- ¼ cup of flour (can make this gluten free if necessary)
- 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast
- ¾ teaspoon of black himalayan salt (Kala Namak), or sub with regular salt
- ⅓ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
- Mix together the sun-dried tomatoes, soy sauce, and liquid smoke in a bowl set aside to marinate.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- When hot add the onions and sauté until the onions turn translucent
- Add the garlic
- Cook until onions begin to brown (about 5 minutes).
- Sprinkle over the flour and stir to coat the onions, let cook for about a minute.
- Mix in all remaining ingredients.
- Cook the sauce for about 5 minutes until thickened, whisking as needed.
- Finally, add the cooked & drained pasta and the marinated sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce. Toss well to combine. Serve hot and enjoy!
