What's the difference between desiccated and shredded coconut? Both are dried coconut flesh, just cut differently. Desiccated is finely ground, ideal for cakes and macaroons, while shredded and flaked cuts are larger, for texture in granola and toppings.

Is coconut oil good for cooking? Yes, virgin coconut oil is heat-stable, so it suits roasting, frying and baking. It also works in dairy-free recipes and as a natural skincare oil.

What can I use coconut milk for? It's the base for Thai and Indian curries, dairy-free soups, porridge, smoothies and puddings. Ours has no artificial thickeners or stabilisers, so shake or stir it before use.

How should I store coconut products? Keep dried coconut and coconut oil in a cool, dry cupboard. Coconut oil is stable at room temperature; refrigerate any opened tinned coconut milk and use within a few days.
