The best homemade vegan burger patty recipe with brown rice and protein loaded TVP crumbles.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl combine the Soy Chunks or TVP mince with the hot water
  2. Let soak for 20 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Drain and wring out any excess water. (Fluff with a fork if using TVP)
  4. Add the cooked brown rice and TVP a food processor bowl along with the soy sauce, smoked paprika, beets and all the spices including the tapioca.
  5. Using the pulse button gradually mix everything until combined.*DO NOT OVER PROCESS*make sure to maintain a nice texture, a few quick of pulses should be enough.
  6. Transfer mixture to a bowl
  7. Fold in the panko bread crumbs.OPTIONAL- Add in the4 Vital Wheat Gluten for a more firm burger patty.
  8. lightly oil your hands and form the mixture into patties.It should yield about 6 to 8 depending on how their size.
  9. Sear each burger in a hot cast iron skillet for a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown. (Make sure to lightly oil your pan aswell to avoid any sticking)
  10. Or just throw them on a grill if making the Vital Wheat Gluten variation
  11. Serve with your favourite toppings and bun, enjoy!
