Ingredients
- 2 tbsp plant-based butter or margarine
- 3 tbsp flour
- 300 ml vegetable stock
- 2 tbsp miso
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp organic onion powder
- pinch freshly ground black pepper
- pinch salt
- 1 tbsp peanut butter (optional)
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
Directions
- In a small sauce pan melt plant-based butter, add (sifted) flour and whisk until it becomes smooth and creamy.
- Add vegetable broth, onion powder, miso, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and whisk until smooth (on medium-high heat) for a few minutes (bring to boil). Add the nutritional yeast and mix. Add some fresh or dried thyme for an extra flavour.
- You can add a spoon of peanut butter (optional). Serve warm with potatoes, roasted veggies, nut roast etc. Be careful with salt if you add more soy sauce.
