TVP-atty (Hamburguesas de proteína vegetal texturizada)

Ingredients
- 2 Cups cooked Brown Rice
- 2 Cups TVP Mince or Soy chunks
- 4-5 tbsp Tapioca Flour
- 2 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Chili powder or to taste
- 3 Grated garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika or 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp Nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
Directions
- In a mixing bowl combine the Soy Chunks or TVP mince with the hot water
- Let soak for 20 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Drain and wring out any excess water. (Fluff with a fork if using TVP)
- Add the cooked brown rice and TVP a food processor bowl along with the soy sauce, smoked paprika, beets and all the spices including the tapioca.
- Using the pulse button gradually mix everything until combined.*DO NOT OVER PROCESS*make sure to maintain a nice texture, a few quick of pulses should be enough.
- Transfer mixture to a bowl
- Fold in the panko bread crumbs.OPTIONAL- Add in the4 Vital Wheat Gluten for a more firm burger patty.
- lightly oil your hands and form the mixture into patties.It should yield about 6 to 8 depending on how their size.
- Sear each burger in a hot cast iron skillet for a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown. (Make sure to lightly oil your pan aswell to avoid any sticking)
- Or just throw them on a grill if making the Vital Wheat Gluten variation
- Serve with your favourite toppings and bun, enjoy!
