FAQs
What's in the Global Flavours collection? Single spices, dried herbs, ready-made blends like garam masala and curry powder, fermented miso pastes, chilli pastes like harissa, and a few floral ingredients such as rose petals and hibiscus. It pulls together the seasonings used across Indian, North African, Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and other world cooking.
Are your spices organic? Most of the range is certified organic, and a lot of it is also GMO-free. Each product page tells you exactly what you're getting, so check there if organic matters for a particular item.
Should I buy whole or ground spices? Whole spices like cumin, fennel and peppercorns keep their aroma longer and you can toast and grind them fresh. Ground spices are quicker to cook with. We stock both, so it comes down to how much flavour and convenience you want.
How should I store spices? Keep them in an airtight container somewhere cool, dark and dry, away from the heat of the hob. Whole spices can last a couple of years that way, ground spices are best within a year while they're at their most fragrant.
Do you sell spices in bulk? Yes. Most come in a range of sizes from small pouches up to bulk packs, which work out cheaper per kilo and suit regular cooks, caterers and restaurants.
Are they vegan? The spices, herbs, blends and miso pastes here are plant-based. As always, check the individual product page if you need to confirm for a specific item.
